Maroon + Blue = Fighting Eagle?

Mula sa pagiging Iskolar ng Bayan
sa araw na ito'y magiging True Blue Atenean

Bow.

Finally enrolled at AGSB aka Ateneo Graduate School of Business in Rockwell, Makati. And as I've been telling anyone who cared to ask, it was a pleasantly surprising experience. No long and winding lines, no elbows to rub, AND no "taray" (snobbish) staff making registrants feel inferior. Who gave them the right to do so anyway? And whatever happened to value for money? (Mental note: STOP! This isn't the OTHER SCHOOL).

So here's a blow-by-blow account of my first enrollment at AGSB. Drum roll please...

12:40 noon - ETA at AGSB Rockwell
Guard asked, "Ma'am law school?"
(Gracie to self: Should I jump for joy or should I smack this guy's face? None. SMILE. You've 2 years and a few months to go.)

12:45 noon - Cashier
Cashier at Window 2 was cheerful and bright as Christmas. Only in Ateneo? :) So after 4 minutes of me thinking, "CASH HERE! CASH HERE!" She hands me my official receipt (OR) with official, permanent, must forget-me-not student number. YEY! I got MANDYN, Professor L. Moguel. Weds at 6-10PM :)

12:55 noon - Instructional Materials
Say what? Yes, it took me about five minutes and four flights of stairs to find the Instructional Materials (IM) section safely tucked beside the Registrar's office in the third floor where I first submitted the requirements with former AGSB-CCE employee, guide, and husband Marky. Short term amnesia, truly bad for the health.

IM girl at window 4 shuts me, uhm, closes her window right after she opened 'em just to tell me to go to window 3. IM boy at window 3 quickly looks over my OR, gone in a few seconds, back with a yellow folder, then gone again. Time: 60 seconds!

12:58 noon - Registrar
Final leg of the race: Patrick at th Registrar. Almost greeted him, "Hi Patrick in the Registrar so Patrick Star!" Glad I didn't, instead submitted my 2x2 red background picture sponsored by Pong Llagas Photo Shop and Printing Services. ID to be released on the first day of classes.

Official end time: 1PM
The rest of the day was filled with book hunting, hunting those with books, informing loved ones I safely enrolled, and texting my boss I wasn't AWOLing and was truly coming back to the office.

My first enrollment at AGSB and I survived all by myself. Now on the way to an Ateneo Regis MBA. All by myself again... and I'm loving it!

( -- ,. ) So did I trade my maroon gear for bluer than blue? Not in this lifetime. Just mixing it up!

Because I feel like a HOT AIR Balloon

Chanced upon these "cool" and weird" hot air balloons during surfing...through the Internet, at the office, during lunch (swear). My grammar gurus are probably cringing on their seats with the attack of the prepositions. Moreover, (let's shift to connectors, BWAHAHA!) the article says hot air balloons are full of hot air literally and one helluva way to make a fashion statement. If you can't stick "hot" to my head lately then I don't know what to make of it. The fashion statement thing--better ask the peeps who are supposed to see if they indeed are seeing my attempts at being different, creative and chic d;b
So without further ado, here are my favorites from the list:

Our top five...
1. "I am your father" (hubby's vote, most probably)
2. An orange from the Putrajaya Hot Air Balloon Festival in Malaysia
3. Pink smiley at Sydney Harbour past the Opera House (sorry, just couldn't resists pink)
4. Guess what largest supposedly pink but seems to be more red thingy from the Zwarte/Black Cross Festival in Lichtenvoorde, Netherlands
5. Mommy there's a fox in our backyard at the Swiss Alps, Chateau d'oex, Switzerland

So what did you like best? Oh btw, it says it's cool to drop something small - say a coin - and have it utterly destroy someone below because of the gravity-induced acceleration. Wonder if this also applies to let's say a few feet, meters, or 7 floors away? Num-ni-num... (--,.)

Yes, I love cake and hot pink. No, I'm not a baker (I wish!)

This first post is dedicated to life's worker ants and bees who, much like moi, face toil and hardship day in and day out. Long live coffee and tea breaks and the 5:01 habit!
